Savor the mouthwatering blend of garlic, bacon, and cheese in these savory scones. Perfect for breakfast or a snack, they offer robust flavour and tender texture.

Ingredients you need

  • 3 cups flour 

  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder

  • 2 teaspoons Baking Soda

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon white pepper

  • 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)

  • 1 tablespoon Apple cider or white vinegar

  • 2 tablespoons mashed garlic

  • 8 strips of your favourite bacon, cooked and chopped

  • 1 cup milk of your choice

  • 2 large eggs

  • ½ cup + 2 tablespoons cold butter grated

  • 1 cup grated cheddar (sharp is preferred, but any cheese works!)

Directions

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F.
  •  Lightly beat the eggs and combine with milk, then chill until ready to use.

  • Grate or chop the garlic finely, then mix with salt and vinegar in a bowl; let sit in the fridge while preparing other ingredients.
    2 tablespoons mashed garlic
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 tablespoon Apple cider vinegar
  • Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and sugar in a bowl. Whisk ingredients to make sure you have an even distribution.
    3 cups flour
    2 teaspoons Baking powder
    2 teaspoons Baking Soda
    1 teaspoon sugar 
  • Add grated butter and mix.
    ½ cup + 2 tablespoons cold butter
  • Stir the garlic into the milk mix, then combine with dry ingredients, blending gently but thoroughly.
  • Fold in cheese and bacon delicately. Don’t over mix.
  • Shape your dough on a pan into a 2cm thick round. Use your bench scraper to measure and Cut into 8 sections but leave together. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden (reduce oven to 400°F for the last 10 minutes if you desire a less crunchy of a top).
  • Enjoy! Let scones rest for 5 minutes on the pan, absorbing the amazing flavors.
