Ingredients you need

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • 4 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter (cooled)

  • 1 3/4 cups milk (any preferred type)

Directions

  • Preheat your waffle iron to the Belgian setting.
  • Whisk together the dry ingredients:
    2 cups flour
    1 tablespoon sugar
    4 teaspoons baking powder
    1/4 teaspoon salt in a large bowl
  • In a separate bowl, use a hand mixer to beat the 2 eggs until they become light and pale in color.
  • Combine the melted butter and milk with the dry ingredients.

    1 3/4 cups milk
  • Carefully fold in the eggs to the whole mixture, avoiding over-mixing while ensuring there are no large flour pockets. Some lumps are totally fine though!
  • Let the batter stand for 5 minutes to thicken slightly.
  • Grease your waffle iron with cooking spray or a light coating of butter.
  • Pour just over 1/4 cup of batter onto the iron, cooking each waffle until crispy and golden.
  • If you prefer to serve them all at once, keep them warm on a baking sheet or directly on the oven rack set to 200°F

  • Use real butter it makes all the difference!
  • If your using salted butter omit the salt.
